Parker School brought in more than $18,500 for financial aid last month at its 11th Annual Fairways & Friends Golf Tournament at Hualalai Resort.

This year, in addition to golf, Hualalai Spa treatments and a clothing and accessory sale hosted by Hula Moon Boutique were offered that day at the resort.

After the tournament, participants enjoyed an awards reception with heavy pupus, cocktails and prizes.

The prizes, such as a custom golf club, gift certificates for complimentary rounds of golf at various Big Island resorts, hotel stays, restaurants and markets were generously donated by Kamaaina Clubmakers, Hualalai Resort, The Club at Hokulia Golf, Mauna Kea Beach Resort Golf Course, Hapuna Golf Course, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Big Island Country Club, Waikoloa Beach & Kings’ Course, Makalei Golf Club, Waikoloa VillageGolf Course, Big Island Candies, Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill, Merriman’s Market Cafe, and KTA Superstores.

Parker School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory K-12 school located in Waimea. Because a large percentage — more than 50 percent — of Parker School students receive financial aid, the school holds events such as the Fairways & Friends tournament and Kahiau, their annual spring auction gala, to help raise financial aid funds.
