Flags at half-staff in remembrance of Fuddy

MEDIA RELEASE

As a mark of respect for the memory of Hawaii Department of Health Director Loretta Fuddy, Gov. Neil Abercrombie has ordered that the flags of the United States and State of Hawaii shall be flown at half-staff at all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawaii National Guard from sunrise to sunset Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, the day of her memorial service.

Fuddy was first appointed to the Governor’s Cabinet in December 2010 as first deputy director of the Hawaii Department of Health and then as its director on March 2, 2011.

She previously served as chair of the Hawaii Public Health Association, president of the Association of State and Territorial Public Health Social Workers, treasurer and secretary of the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, and a member of the Policy Committee of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officers.
