Rep. Tulsi Gabbard will meet with leaders of agencies and organizations that promote social justice and reduce recidivism this week on Oahu, Hawaii Island, Kauai, and Maui.
The schedule includes three stops Thursday, Dec. 19 in Hilo.
She will tour various facilities and meet with youth and adults who have benefited from the programs and services offered to reduce the number of repeat offender cases.
Thursday, Dec. 19: Hawaii Island
9:30 a.m.: Visit Ka Umeke Kaeo campus to learn about the charter school’s Hawaiian language immersion program and discuss the faculty’s efforts to build the school’s capacity.

11 a.m.: Meet with Keaukaha and Panaewa Hawaiian Homesteaders to listen to their concerns and share updates on the congressional issues that affect their community.

Noon: Visit with the Hawaii County Economic Development Council to be briefed on the various programs that support Hawaii Island’s low-income families and individuals.
