Kona Stories celebrates 7th anniversary (Nov. 30)

Kona Stories book store in Keauhou Shopping Center is celebrating its 7th year in business as Kona’s local independently owned bookstore Nov. 30.

The celebration will last all day with free dessert and sangria, free holiday photos with the Grinch 1-3 p.m.

Kona Stories is owned by Joy Vogelgesang and Brenda McConnell. Both owners will be in the bookstore to welcome customers and help with questions.

Kona Stories is the home of more than 10,000 book titles among them more than 200 locally published authors. It has books on Hawaiian, keiki, spirituality, general fiction and non-fiction.

This year Santa has brought in four pallets of keiki educational toys and they are Kona’s elite dealer of Woodstock musically tuned wind chimes.

Still the main attraction at the book store is the two store cats, Noble and Shadow. These two lovable adopted cats are always at the door to welcome shoppers.

Store hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 30.
