Kona burglaries, thefts (Oct. 19-25)

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers Oct. 19-25.

BURGLARIES

No burglaries reported.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On Oct. 19, a reported UCPV at the Kona Coast Resort, a maroon 2006 Ford Focus (RCT414) taken, vehicle later stopped by police on Alii Drive and driver arrested.

On Oct. 21, a reported UCPV in the 4300 block of Kalaoa, male party reported his friend took his silver 1989 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck bearing plates PH231 without permission. Truck was later returned to the victims’ residence.

On Oct. 21, a reported UCPV in the 200 block of Royal Poinciana Drive, a female reported her black 2011 Chinese brand moped (Taizhou Zhongeng) as being stolen. Moped license number is H34353 and serial number L5YACBPA5B1132649.

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On Oct. 19, a reported UEMV at the Kona Coast Resort, vehicle HJW333 entered, nothing taken.

On Oct. 19, a reported UEMV at the Kona Coast Resort, vehicle ZAY131 entered, a black Sunpak tripod, Kealakehe High School copy machine ID & miscellaneous keys taken.

On Oct. 19, a reported UEMV at the Kona Fuel Dock Deli, vehicle NYU200 entered, a green CHH credit union bag containing U.S. currency, drivers license and Costco card taken.

On Oct. 20, a reported UEMV at the Kailua Bay Estates, vehicle ZBJ624 entered, football equipment in a gray Adidas bag taken.

On Oct. 20, a reported UEMV at the Kona Walmart, vehicle HLV565 entered, phone charger, electronic cigarette, U.S. currency, tobacco and other miscellaneous items taken.

THEFT

On Oct. 20, a reported theft in the 5700 block of Milena Place, male party reported an unknown male picking mango’s on his tree without permission. Unknown male party contacted, victim refused to pursue criminal prosecution.

On Oct. 20, a reported theft in the 4800 block of Manu Mele Street, an extension cord and carpenters belt taken.

On Oct. 21, a reported theft at a construction site in Hualalai Estates, a blue 20’ X 10’ tarp and tool box containing nails taken.

On Oct. 21, a reported theft in the 6180 block of Alii Drive, a hammock taken from property.

On Oct. 21, a reported theft in the 640 block of Huaai Street, mango’s taken from tree without permission.

On Oct. 23, a reported theft at the Kailua Village Artist Gallery, a purse with contents taken.
