Parker School hosts Heneghan Run (Nov. 9)

Parker School hosts its 14th Annual Heneghan Run on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The event is open to the public and consists of a 1K Keiki Run and a 5K Fun Run.

It was established in memory of Hawaii architect George Heneghan, who was also an accomplished athlete, teacher and coach. He coached cross-country and track at Parker from 1992-1998.

This year, all proceeds from the run will go to Parker’s Ohana Day canned food drive for local food banks.

The entry fee for adults is $15 plus two cans of food, and for students, $10 plus two cans of food.

Medals will be awarded to 1st place overall male and female finishers in the 5K run and 1K run, and 1st place finishers in each age category.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. on race day. The 1K Keiki Run starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K Fun Run begins at 9 a.m.

Registration includes a T-shirt and refreshments at the event, however, participants whose registration forms are received after Nov. 1 are not guaranteed a T-shirt.

Childcare will be provided for children of 5K participants.
