BISAC garage sale to benefit United Way (Oct. 19)

The Big Island Substance Abuse Council (BISAC) will host a garage sale with proceeds going to the Hawaii Island United Way 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 19 at 297 Waianuenue Ave.

BISAC also is invites the community to donate items for the garage sale.

“It’s really a great way to get rid of some of those unwanted or little used items laying around the house and really support the Hawaii Island United Way,” BISAC CEO Dr. Hannah Preston-Pita said.

Since 1964, BISAC has been inspiring individuals and families to reclaim and enrich their lives in the wake of the ravages of substance abuse. It offer a continuum of services that are culturally appropriate and aligned with the ever-changing behavioral health field.

“We’re so grateful to be able to host the garage sale and do something that supports an organization that does so much good work in our community like the Hawaii Island United Way,” Preston-Pita said.
