Kona burglaries, thefts (Aug. 31-Sept. 6)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers Aug. 31-Sept. 6.

BURGLARIES

On Sept. 5, a reported Burglary at Uncle Billy’s Hotel. U.S. currency taken.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On Sept. 1, a reported UCPV in the 100 block of Ala Onaona, a Red 2001 Jeep Wrangler bearing Hawaii license plate HHU578 was taken.

On Sept. 3, a reported UCPV in the Worldmark Hotel parking lot, a Red 2007 Vespa moped having moped license HH176283 and VIN (vehicle identification number) number ZAPC386B375005717 taken.

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

Between Sept. 4 and Sept. 5, a reported UEMV at Pacific Comm Systems parking lot. Vehicle entered and a Honda generator taken.

THEFT

On Sept. 1, a reported theft in the 100 block of Ala Onaona.A satchel containing personal items taken.

On Sept. 1, a reported theft Genco Auto Sales. Rims & tires belonging to a 1999 Toyota 4Runner were taken. Vehicle was parked at the used car lot.

On Sept. 3, a reported theft at Kona International Airport. Male party reported his prescription medication, Ipod and Ipad taken from his luggage somewhere between Los Angeles Airport and Kona International Airport.
