Kona burglaries, thefts (Aug. 23-28)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers Aug. 23-28.

BURGLARIES

On Aug. 26, a reported burglary in the 4400 block of Kakahiaka Street. Forced entry, several items damaged, nothing removed.

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On Aug. 24, a reported UCPV in the 5700 block of Alahou Street. A black 2013 Honda Metro Moped with Hi Lic# 157HNV was taken. The moped has been recovered.

On Aug. 24, two reported UCPV in the 5800 block of Welo Street. A red 2008 Honda Metro Moped with Hi Lic# H27293 and a blue Honda Metro Moped with unknown Lic# was taken.

On Aug. 24, a reported UCPV in the 5700 block of Alahou Street. A black 2012 Honda Ruckus with Hi Lic# 706HNU was taken.

On Aug. 26, a reported UCPV in the area of the Palani Road. Junction. A silver 1991 Toyota pickup truck with Hi Lic# EDJ765 was taken. The vehicle has been located.

UEMV (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On Aug. 25, a reported UEMV on Alii Drive near Laaloa Beach Park. A purse with miscellaneous contents taken.

On Aug. 25, a reported UEMV on Kuakini Highway near the County Parking Lot. Two backpacks with miscellaneous contents taken.
