Hawaii Chamber of Commerce staff announcements

The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii announces a staff promotion in its special events department and the addition of two new account executives in its membership department.

The appointments are in support of the Chamber’s work on behalf of its approximately 1,000 member companies and the business community, as a whole, to advance the state’s economic climate and help businesses succeed.

Kyle Okamura was promoted to manager, special events & projects. He most recently served as assistant event coordinator. In his new position, he is responsible for the planning, coordination and management of the Chamber’s training, business building and networking events and special projects, including the organization’s Young Professionals program, a networking group offering young professionals the opportunity to exchange ideas, grow professionally and share common interests.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Okamura was with BAE Systems and, prior to that, Pacific Health Research and Education Institute, both in Honolulu. He graduated from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix-Hawaii.

Darla Arakaki has joined the Chamber as an account executive responsible for membership sales and development. Previously, she was regional sales associate with Island Taylor, a restaurant equipment company in Honolulu.

A 20-year managerial sales veteran, Arakaki has served in a variety industries including automotive, real estate, and retail advertising.

Colette Naniole also joined the Chamber as an account executive.

A veteran of Hawaii’s business community, Naniole also served as sales manager with Aloha Air Cargo, responsible for sales growth and market expansion of the company’s products and services. She began her career in 1993 as group sales manager with Ala Moana Hotel and worked in the hotel/hospitality industry for more than 10 years.

As the leading “Voice of Business” in Hawaii, The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii is the state’s largest organization advocating for businesses in Hawaii.

Established in 1850, The Chamber works on behalf of it’s approximately 1,000 member companies and the business community, as a whole, to advance the state’s economic climate and help businesses succeed.

The Chamber supports its members with training, business building and networking opportunities; lobbies government and advocates on behalf of business interests; and serves as a liaison between civilian and military communities in Hawaii.
