Community forum on community development plans

The next West Hawaii Community Forum, also known as Kona Town Meetings sponsored by Community Enterprises, will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:45 p.m. at the Maka’eo Pavilion at Old Kona Airport Park.

The main topic for the evening will be the status of the Kona Community Development Plan: its promises and problems. There will be presentations and small group discussions.

Presenters and discussion leaders include: Michael Matsukawa, attorney and Community Enterprises board member; Ken Melrose, chairman of the Action Committee for the Kona Community Development Plan Ordinance; Margaret Wille, councilperson; Nancy Pisicchio, Kona Community Development Plan Steering Committee facilitator; and, Bo Kahui, executive director for Laiopua 2020.

The forums are open to the public and are free of charge. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the forum will begin at 6:00. Light refreshments will be provided.
