Wind advisory for Big Island summits

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a wind advisory for the slopes of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea above 8,000 feet until 6 a.m. Tuesday (June 4).

Winds are forecast to come from the East at 25-45 mph with localized gusts up to 60 mph on the summits.

These winds can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should use caution while driving.
