Two charged in county facility gas theft

County Prosecuting Attorney Mitchell D. Roth has announced Billy Joseph Colliado was served April 30 with a warrant in connection to the theft of gasoline that belonged to the county.

The theft occurred in October 2001 at a county Department of Public Works baseyard in Waimea, South Kohala.

Colliado is charged with one count of theft in the second degree for his participation in the theft.

Also charged in this case is Donald Wayne Wilbur with one count of theft in the second degree, three counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle in the first degree, and three counts of criminal trespass in the second degree.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Wilbur.

Colliado and Wilbur were county employees at the time of the theft.

Theft in the second degree and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle in the first degree are Class C felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison.

Criminal trespass in the second degree is a petty misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail.
