High wind warning in effect for Big Island summits

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high wind warning for the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea over 8,000 feet until noon today (April 3).

Winds are forecast to come from the West at 30-50 mph with localized gusts over 55 mph.

These winds can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should use caution while driving.
