MEDIA RELEASE
In February, Parker School fifth graders dressed in outfits representing words they had previously secretly chosen from a list of all the vocabulary they had learned so far this year in their language arts program.
Their fellow students had to guess what word their costumes stood for.
Later, they paraded in front of all the other lower schoolers during an assembly, and each recited a short poem describing their mystery word.
The culmination of the vocabulary fun occurred when one student removed the “volcano†head piece from his costume, had everyone stand back, and, using soda and Mentos candy, actually made his volcano erupt.
