Police DUI stats for the week of January 28-February 3, 2013

During the week of January 28, 2013, through February 3, 2013, Hawaiʻi Island police arrested 14 motorists for drunk driving. One driver was involved in a traffic crash. One was under the age of 21.

So far this year, there have been 99 DUI arrests compared with 118 during the same period last year, a decrease of 16.1 percent. The numbers of arrests by district were:

There have been 102 major accidents so far this year compared with 126 during the same period last year, a decrease of 19 percent.

So far this year, there were seven (revised total) traffic fatalities on Hawaiʻi Island compared with no fatalities during the same period last year.

DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue island wide.
