Fire/rescue crews answered an 11:07 a.m. alarm Saturday (Feb 3) to Honaunau for a paraglider who crashed in an old coffee field above Highway 11.
The paraglider got into trouble, and said he had spiraled 300-400 feet down and got tangled up in a tree and hit the ground. The 45-year-old man was rescued by fire crews and transported via ambulance to Kona Community Hospital for his injuries.
