Love great food? Head to Kings’ Shops (Jan. 26)

It will be an evening of epicurean delight with fine foods; premium wine, beer and gourmet coffee all set to live musical entertainment with a silent auction to round off the evening. The event starts at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $30 per person with scripts for wine, beer and espresso will be sold for $3 each. Wine will be presented by Alex Thropp (two scripts), beer by Big Island Brewhaus (one script) and espresso by Kona Brothers Coffee (one script).

For an additional $20 Celebrity Chef Ippy Aiona will host a food demonstration at 4 p.m. Chef Ippy will be opening his first full service restaurant, the highly anticipated Three Fat Pigs, a gastro pub, in early March here at Kings’ Shops.

Peruse the sumptuous food tasting stations staged by chefs from Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill, Merriman’s Market Café, Lava Lava Beach Club, Hawaii Calls Restaurant, Kamuela Provision Company, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Waikoloa Grill`n Bar.

A dessert station with creations prepared by the patisserie students of Hawaii Community College will be the piece de resistance.

Merchants of Kings’ Shops have donated items from their stores for auction, along with overnight packages from the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and Hilton Waikoloa Village. All proceeds from the event and silent auction will go to the Culinary Arts Program, Hawaii Community College-Palamanui to equip the teaching kitchens. The Culinary Arts Program is a fully accredited program by the American Culinary Federation.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.konakohalachefs.org until Thursday, Jan. 24; at Maui Divers Jewelry in Kings’ Shops; at the entrance between Maui Divers Jewelry and Baron & Leeds on the day of the event.
