Wind advisory continues for Big Island summits

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has continued the wind advisory for the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea above 8,000 feet until 6 p.m. Friday (Jan 18).

Winds from the West are 25-35 mph with higher gusts.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should use caution when driving on summit roadways.
