Fairmont Orchid blooms anew with renovations

MEDIA RELEASE

The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii has announced the completion of the most comprehensive guest room renovation project since the resort’s opening in 1990.

The new room décor is modern and luxurious with clean lines, incorporating uniquely Hawaiian elements into subtle touches throughout the space, highlighted by artwork by esteemed island artists.

Lowell Tom of Philpotts Interiors has updated the guestrooms to an international standard while managing to let the visitor know they are visiting a tropical island location.

Subtle, textured fabrics and wall colors give the guestrooms a quiet elegance. Modern, circular framed mirrors, padded fabric headboards with carved wood insets, smoked glass nautilus lamps and upgraded lighting fixtures, a streamlined desk and desk chair and rattan occasional seating help carry the fresh theme and give the rooms a strong “sense of place.”

The hotel’s 54 suites now feature a new sectional sleeper, accent and coffee tables, a sleek dining area with a torchiere lamp, faux coral framed mirror and the same quiet hues and clean lines that give the guest rooms a refreshed look.

In addition to guest rooms, the resort’s 32,000 square feet of indoor meeting space has also been renovated with new wall coverings.

New chairs and carpeting have also been added to the 138 seat Lehua Theater, the only theater of its kind on the Kohala Coast.
