‘Make It Better / World Aids Day’ at UH Hilo (Nov. 30)

The University of Hawaii at Hilo hosts its third annual “Make It Better Day” and “World Aids Day” 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 in Campus Center Room 301.

The events are free and open to the public.

The goal of “Make It Better Day” is to increase knowledge about bullying and suicide in our society, which is especially problematic among those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bi-sexual, Intersexed and Questioning or Queer (LGTBIQ).

Participants will have the opportunity to show their support, learn about state laws, religious views, suicide prevention and hear from panelists who will share stories about their lives.

“World Aids Day” will be celebrated and acknowledged at “Make It Better Day” with free HIV/Aids testing by HIHAF, Make-over’s by MAC, T-shirts for sale by Pride Hilo and much more.

The events are sponsored by the Women’s Center, Student Activities Council, Campus & Community Service, Lava Shoots and University Radio Hilo.
