Coffee Talk meeting to advise on Little Fire Ant invasion

Little Fire Ant (LFA) was discovered in mauka Kona coffee land, at the 1,200-1,500 foot elevation in the last month. Not only do the ants inflict stinging, long-lasting bites, their presence can affect the value of the property where they locate.

Learn the dire implications of this tiny ant and how it may affect you.

Entomologist Rob Curtiss of CTAHR and Cas Vanderwoude of Hawaii Ant Lab, Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit, University of Hawaii will give a slide presentation followed by questions from the audience.

This open meeting is 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at CTAHR in Kainaliu. CTAHR is located across from and mauka of the Aloha Theatre.

Coffee Talk is presented by the Kona Coffee Farmers Association and everyone is welcome.

The Kona Coffee Farmers Association is a volunteer, non-profit, community-based organization of coffee farmers with the mission to promote and protect the economic interests of Kona coffee farmers who grow and sell 100% Kona coffee and to seek greater legal protection of the Kona coffee name.
