Fruit Lovers Fest (Oct. 27)

One Island is hosting a workshop, potluck and presentation Oct. 27 to celebrate rare and commonly known tropical fruits able to grow in Hawaii.

Special Guest Jim West will be visiting from Ecuador and a workshop on pruning and tree care, potluck with local live music, farmers booths with exotic fruits and trees for sale, plus free fruit tastings with a fresh coconut husking lesson will be offered.

Fruit Lovers Fest Schedule:

* 3:30 p.m. – Gates open for reserved parking

* 4-5 p.m. – Fruit tree pruning and care with Raven Bolas, arborist, Hawaii Plant Care Specialists

* 5-7 p.m. – Music with Lorenzo

* 5-6 p.m – Coconut Husking and Fruit Tastings with Coconut Pete and area farms

* 6-7 p.m. – Potluck

* 7-8:30 p.m. – Presentations by Jim West and Ken Love

Parking is limited; RSVP to hawaii@one-island.org to reserve parking and for directions to location on Painted Church Rd in Honaunau.
