MEDIA RELEASE

Members of the Lions Club of Kona worked together on a civic improvement project on Saturday, Oct. 13. It took more than 15 volunteers to build and paint five wooden picnic tables and 12 concrete benches.

All benches and picnic tables will be donated to schools and parks in West Hawaii, including Kona Pacific Public Charter School in Kealakekua.

Schools, parks and non-profit organizations interested in receiving a donated bench or picnic table may call Glenn Uchimura at (808) 895-8564 or email guch51@hawaii.rr.com.

The Lions Club of Kona has roughly 65 members and meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Teshima’s Restaurant.
