Police are searching for a man reported missing, possibly in Puna area

Big Island Police are requesting the public’s help in locating a 66-year-old man reported missing by the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department in Modesto, California.

The missing man, Lucas Gonzales, has ties to the Big Island and has lived in the Puna District.

He is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds with a dark complexion, brown eyes, short, balding black hair and a black-and-white beard. He has a tattoo of a Playboy bunny on his left bicep.

Police ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts call Officer Corina Apuakehau at 965-2716.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
