Community Policing to set-up info booth at Reeds Bay Friday (Sept 28)

MEDIA RELEASE

In a continuing effort to improve community awareness about laws pertaining to beach parks, an informational booth will be set up at Reeds Bay in Hilo on Friday (September 28) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Community Policing Section, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Coalition for a Tobacco Free Hawaii and The Salvation Army Family Intervention Services will work together to remind the public that the use of alcohol is prohibited along the Banyan Drive peninsula—including at beach parks—and that the use of tobacco is prohibited at beach parks.

Any groups or individuals who wish to participate in this community outreach project or in future projects may call the Community Policing Section at 961-8121.
