Pirate Party & ‘Derby Baby!’ film screening (Sept. 22)

MEDIA RELEASE

Sailors beware! Big Island pirates are on the prowl, shining their hooks and sanding their peg-legs in preparation for this year’s Paradise Roller Girls’ DJ Music Pirate Party and film screening of Derby Baby!, a story of love, addiction, and rink rash.

The party starts 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at 100% Moxies and is open to anyone 21 years and older. Come dressed in the best pirate costume, showcase the best pirate booty, or the best PRRRRRRG! and you could win two nights stay at the Keauhou Outrigger hotel or a world class trip to the bottom of the Pacific, courtesy of PRG plank-walk tours.

All boat buccaneers busting their butts on the dance floor will have a chance to relax and stretch their peg-legs during the screening of the latest derby film to hit the theaters, Derby Baby!

Emmy Award winning filmmakers Robin Bond and Dave Wruck will take booty hunters around the international derby world during this 95 minute awe-inspiring documentary which seeks to answer the question of why derby is the fastest growing sport in the world.

Tickets for Saturday’s screening and pirate party are available in advance for $20 at 100% Moxies, online at paradiserollergirls.com, or through your local derby girl.

Alternatively, tickets can be purchased for $25 the day of the event at 100% Moxies.
