Special to Hawaii 24/7

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, Regional Vice President Chris Luedi, Executive Chef Hubert and Executive Sous Chef Steve headed up to Waimea Middle School to donate gently used Fairmont Fit adidas gear to members of the Waimea Middle School cross country team.

Forty of the 280 students had signed up to run this year, and some didn’t have shoes of their own to run in. The donated bags were individually labeled with each student’s name and shoe size.

Once the students donned on their new gear, they set out on a 1.5 mile run with Luedi and their principal Matt Horne.

After practice, they were treated to healthy smoothies made by the chefs.
