A 34-year-old Hilo man who nearly drowned over the weekend died Thursday (September 27) from the incident. Chris Broussard of Hilo and his 9-year-old son were snorkeling in a tide pool in the Brown’s Beach area Sunday morning (September 23) when a large wave swept the boy out of the tide pool.
