One day after the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament wrapped up, a Kona charter fishing boat landed a monster marlin.

The Charter Desk at Honokohau Harbor reports that a grander – a marlin that weighs at least 1,000 lbs. – was brought into Honokohau Harbor later Saturday afternoon.

Molly Palmer is the lucky angler. The marlin weighed 1,022.5 pounds and measured 15 feet from nose to tail.

Palmer was fishing aboard “Anxious” with Capt. Neal Isaacs.

This was the third grander of 2012, and the first for “Anxious.”
