Former NFL and University of Hawaii Lineman Jesse Sapolu Will Be On Hand to Celebrate Saturday’s Opening in the Prince Kuhio Plaza. Plus Special Promotions and Giveaways.

Sports Authority, one of the nation’s largest full-line sporting goods retailers, announced today that it will celebrate the grand opening of its newest store in Hilo, HI at the Prince Kuhio Plaza this Saturday, August 11. The 50,000 square-foot store opens at 8 AM and is located at 111 E. Puainako Street.

The Hilo Sports Authority is designed in a new format that enhances our customers’ shopping experience with simplified layouts, brighter lighting and bold colors. Customers can expect clear and intuitive store layouts with distinct departments for apparel, team sports, footwear, outdoor, fitness and much more. Additionally, this store will feature Nike and Under Armour Shops, a new fitness area, an expanded footwear department and a new checkout area.

At the Hilo Sports Authority Grand Opening, we will award “Mystery Bucks” that range from $5 to $500 in value to the first 250 customers and hourly $100 cash drawings. Customers can also register for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree. Sports Authority is also hosting an appearance by former NFL and University of Hawaii lineman Jesse Sapolu on August 11 at 1 PM.
