2013 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai tickets on sale

Tournament officials have announced tickets for 2013 Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai are now on sale to the general public.

Featuring a prestigious line-up of some of the world’s most accomplished players, the Champions Tour’s season-opening event is set to return Jan. 16-20 to the Jack Nicklaus-designed Hualalai Golf Course at the Four Seasons Resort.

Weekly grounds tickets are available in advance for $25 and a one day grounds pass is $15. Youth 18 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.

Celebrating its 17th year on the Big Island, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai is the first event in the annual Charles Schwab Cup race and will feature a field comprised of 2011 and 2012 tournament champions, winners of Champions Tour majors from the past five years and special tournament invitees.

Players eligible for the 2013 field so far include Mark Calcavecchia, Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, Mark O’Meara, Corey Pavin, Kenny Perry, Tom Watson and over two dozen others.

Dan Forsman is the defending champion.

The 54-hole event offers a $1.8 million purse.

The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will air live 1:30-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2:30-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 and 2:30-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 on the Golf Channel. All times are local and subject to change.
