League of Women Voters: Don’t vote in the dark

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii County League of Women Voters says, “Don’t vote in the dark!” The primary election on Aug. 11 is fast approaching. How much do you know about the candidates who will appear on your ballot?

www.Vote411.org has important information about the 88 candidates whose names appear on Big Island ballots.

All candidates have been invited to post their information. Most have submitted photos, described their backgrounds, identified their most important issues, and given links to e-mail and website addresses.

Enter your address (street and community.) You will see your political districts and polling place. (These may have changed with the 2011reapportionment and redistricting.) Then you can see the candidates who will appear on your particular ballot.

Vote 411 is loaded with accessible information. Try it yourself, spread the word, then come back after the primary to read about general election candidates and ballot issues.

Once you’re informed, be sure to vote.

For further information, call 933-8683 (933-VOTE) or email LWVhawaiicty@gmail.com.
