Firefighters remain at the scene of a stubborn brushfire in Ka‘u

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

Firefighters spent another day in Ka‘u containing a fire burning brush and trees in a deep ravine near Lower Moaula Road and Highway 11 Sunday (July 15).

Crews worked on maintaining the perimeter of the fire to prevent it from spreading beyond the brush and trees smoldering in the ravine. Some shot spots in the surrounding Macadamia Nut orchard were reported.

Fighterfighter will spend another night at the scene monitoring the fire area.
