High surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Island

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for East facing shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m. Friday (July 13).

Surf is forecast to be in the five to eight foot range with possibly higher sets through Friday. People should use caution as rough surf and dangerous rip currents will be produced by the surf. Beachgoers should be cautious of localized beach erosion.

The Easterly swells have been produced by the former Tropical Cyclone Daniel and will peak around Friday.
