Certified Hawaii, an Associa company, hosted Hilo’s first community association board member seminar Friday, June 22 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.

“This seminar was a great opportunity for board members to see the many services Certified Hawaii has to offer and meet vendors that can enhance their community association,” said Certified President and CEO Jon McKenna. “We had a fun education day, and I could not have been more pleased.”

Attendees learned about the roles, rights and responsibilities of board members.

They also received a lesson in loans and investment options and hot legal issues from industry experts Kathy Cooley, senior vice president of Hawaii operations from Certified Hawaii; Laura Merrifield, regional account executive from Mutual of Omaha Bank and CondoCerts; and Milton Motooka, Esq. from Motooka & Yamamoto.

Refreshments were provided, and attendees had an opportunity to win a Visa gift card and iPad.
