Mauna Lani needs ‘Social Madness’ votes

MEDIA RELEASE

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows has been recognized as one of the state’s social media leaders and is the only ‘large” Hawaii Island business (more than 500 associates) to be invited to participate in Pacific Business News’ “Social Madness” competition.

More than 65 Hawaii businesses have been selected for the challenge, which encourages online users to vote for their favorite business to further help grow its social media presence and engagement.

The competition is staged nationally in collaboration with other American City Business Journal publications and has attracted the participation of more than 4,000 businesses from around the country.

Pacific Business News will make a donation to the charity of choice for the three Hawaii companies that score the highest at the national level.

On July 17, the winning Hawaii company in each category will advance to the national competition and the national winners will be announced Sept. 11, 2012.

The rating is based on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn interactions in addition to direct votes. Mauna Lani Bay is holding the No. 1 spot for large business.

The resort is seeking the support of its Hawaii Island Ohana by urging Kamaaina to vote.
