The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii is the host hotel for Ironman 70.3 Hawaii for the fourth consecutive year. New to the offerings this year, and exclusively for Ironman 70.3 Hawaii participants, is a post-race recovery swim in the pristine waters of Pauoa Bay fronting the resort, to be hosted by professional Olympic triathlete Greg Bennett.

Bennett has earned six world cup titles and has been ranked as the world’s number one triathlete in 2002 and 2003. He is also husband and coach to Laura Bennett, a US Olympic Triathlete who recently qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

“I am delighted to be able to call The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii my home away from home for the Ironman 70.3 Hawaii, it provides a beautiful backdrop for what is sure to be a challenging, invigorating race” said Bennett from his home in Boulder, Colo.

The swim is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. and athletes are asked to meet at the Beach Shack by 7:15 a.m.

The swim will be followed by an athlete-only buffet breakfast at the Orchid Court Restaurant for a discounted, all-inclusive price of $25 per person.

Space is limited to the first 30 participants; a sign-up sheet will be located at the Ironman 70.3 Hawaii registration at The Fairmont Orchid.
