The O-Bon Festival 2012 kicks-off the season at Keauhou Shopping Center, Phase II parking lot Saturday (June 9) 6-10 p.m. Free admission, free Bon Dance towels while supplies last. Free fun, refreshments for sale. Enjoy Kona Daifukuji Taiko and Kona Hongwanji Taiko.

    I go every year and enjoy all the festivities; first with my mother and now in her honor.

    Is there a place to learn the dances?

      You can call the Hongwanji where you’re interested in dancing, they have practice in the month or so leading up to the bon dance.
