Save the date: TechConKona (Aug. 2)

MEDIA RELEASE

Teaching business owners technology solutions and how to develop sustainable business practices is the goal of TechConKona, a unique, one-day business solutions conference 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Sheraton Keauhou Convention Center.

Keynote speaker Paul Hawken, author of seven books, including four national bestsellers: “Natural Capitalism,” “The Next Economy,” “The Ecology of Commerce,” and “Blessed Unrest” will address the expected 400 attendees.

The nationally recognized environmentalist and “social justice” crusader will share strategies for being a financially and morally successful business owner.

Keynote presenter Dustin Luther, social media director for Dun and Bradstreet, will discuss B2B and consumer digital marketing opportunities, tools and ideas.

Other invited speakers include Michael Kramer, Ramsay Taum, Grif Frost, Larry Czerwonka, and John Garcia, who will lead discussions in four different learning paths: computer technology, digital marketing technology, sustainability/renewable energy, and online innovation and start ups on the Big Island.

Admission is $75 before May 15 and $100 after that date. Ticket holders receive a continental breakfast, buffet lunch and a post-event networking reception.

In addition to hearing from two acclaimed keynote speakers and attending three breakout sessions within the four learning paths, conference participants can attend an open discussion forum to use crowd sourcing to learn from speakers and other business professionals.

“At TechConKona, attendees will master how to use technology to boost the triple bottom line with immediate results,” said Guy Toyama, executive director of Friends of NELHA, a key organizer of the event. “TechConKona is an eye-opening and exciting networking, educational and synergistic event for current and future business owners.”

The Natural Energy Laboratory Hawaii Authority, Hawaii Community College and the County of Hawaii are presenting sponsors.
