Work on Kaiwiki Bridge (March 21-23) *completed early*

MEDIA RELEASE

The Department of Public Works will close Kaiwiki Bridge (except for emergency vehicles) to replace wooden planks 8 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, March 21 to Friday, March 23, weather permitting.

Kaiwiki Bridge is the first wooden bridge on Kaiwiki Road located two to three miles from Hawaii Belt Road in South Hilo.

Kaiwiki bridge repairs were completed today at noon, one day ahead of schedule. The first wooden bridge on Kaiwiki rd in South Hilo was partially closed for two days from 8:00 a.m. to noon (except for emergency vehicles). Repairs were originally scheduled for completion Friday.
