Volunteers sought for Keauhou Bay clean up (March 10)

Kamehameha Investment Corporation and Kamehameha Schools have teamed up with Keauhou Bay partners and community members to mark the one-year anniversary of the devastating Japan earthquake and the resulting tsunami that heavily damaged structures and deposited debris in and around Keauhou Bay.

Where: Keauhou Canoe Club Hale

When: 7-11 a.m. Saturday, March 10

Why: For the past year, Keauhou Bay landowners KIC and KS have been working to expedite necessary permits and repairs to restore Keauhou Bay. This clean-up will be an annual event to continue the community stewardship efforts of this significant cultural and natural resource.

Kamehameha Investment Corporation, Inc., a subsidiary of Bishop Holdings, Inc. – the for-profit arm of Kamehameha Schools, is responsible for the cultural assets and planned development of Keauhou, a 2,400-acre fully integrated destination community located five miles south of Kailua-Kona.
