The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the high surf advisory for North and East shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m. this evening (Feb 23).
Rough surf from trade winds are forecast to be in the 8-10 foot range along East facing shores. Swimmers and beachgoers should use caution due to dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion created by the high surf.
A small craft advisory is in effect for waters around the Big Island until 6 p.m. tonight.
