A high surf advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 22) for the North and East shores of the Big Island.

Surf is forecast to be eight to 10 feet in height Tuesday then dropping to six to eight feet Wednesday. Strong trade winds are generating the rough surf.

Swimmers and beachgoers are advised to use caution due to dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion caused by the high surf.

A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday (Feb 21) for all Hawaiian waters.
