Big Isle well-represented at girls state soccer tourney

Two girls soccer teams are seeded in this week’s Hawaii High School Athletic Association girls state soccer tournament

In Division I, Kealakehe earned the No. 4 seed; in Division II, HPA is seeded No. 3.

The tournament runs Wednesday, Feb. 1 through Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Oahu

Kealakehe (14-0) opens play in the second round at 3 p.m. Thursday against the Kapolei-Mililani winner.

HPA kicks off 1 p.m. Thursday against the Leilehua-Makua Lani winner.

Also reaching the state tournament are Konawaena, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii and Honokaa.
