High Surf Advisory for Kona until Tuesday (Jan 31)

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for Kona until 6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan 31).

Waves are forecast to reach five to eight feet in height with surf peaking early Tuesay morning. Beachgoers and swimmers should use caution in and near the ocean. The high surf can produce dangerous rip currents and cause localized beach erosion.

A small craft advisory is also in effect for all Hawaiian waters until 6 a.m. Wednesday (Feb 1).
