The Big Island Beekeepers Association is sponsoring a workshop
10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Komohana Apiary.

Participants should meet at the Hilo Komohana Research and Extension Service Complex parking lot and proceed to the apiary located behind the complex by the organic garden.

The workshop will consist on a hive inspection of the BIBA colony at the apiary and a discussion of new standards for record keeping focused on monitoring the colony for health and the need for treatments.

A member of the state apiary specialist’s staff will be present to answer questions.

Participants should be prepared with suits and veils for hands on
participation.
