Award winning author Danika Dinsmore at Keaau Public & School Library Thursday (Jan 12)

Meet Danika Dinsmore, an award-winning writer and author of “Brigitta of the White Forest,” at the Keaau Public & School Library on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. The free program will be conducted in the Humanities Room.

Dinsmore, winner of the Washington State Poets Association award for Performance Poetry and the Best Fresh Voice Screenwriting Award from the Female Eye Film Festival, will read selections from her book which Amazon.com hails as “A book for those who enjoy fantasy adventure” and “offers a new twist on the faerie tales so loved by young readers.” The one-hour program will include a book-signing session.

In addition to being a writer, Dinsmore is a spokenword artist and educator. She is the co-creator of Washington State’s first youth poetry slam and developed a curriculum guide for teaching poetry in the schools. Dinsmore also produced the Seattle Poetry Festival’s Emerging Voice spokenword program for teens.
