‘Occupy Wall Street’ comes to Big Isle (Oct. 3)

MEDIA RELEASE

Spring is coming to America as the American peoples’ patience with the current disastrous global financial state of affairs caused by Wall St falls.

Two solidarity protests are planned Monday, Oct. 3 on the Big Island:

* KONA: 3 p.m. on Queen Kaahumanu Highway across from the now-closed Borders Bookstore location.

* HILO: 4-6 p.m. outside Merrill Lynch (1437 Kilauea Ave)

Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%.

We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants.

  1. The movement is gaining momentum in its THIRD week now and Occupations are popping up all over the country! Stand up together and use your voice to give to those without through peace and solidarity. Tax the rich and feed the poor- you are the 99%! See my Occupy Wall Street painting and Anonymous homage on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/09/occupywallstreet.html where you can also see videos of the protests and police brutality as well as get other sources for coverage of the movement.
