Horner appointed resort manager at Sheraton

Pyramid Hotel Group has appointed Hawaii hotelier Paul Horner as resort manager of Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa.

Horner brings more than 25 years of experience in the hotel and resort industry to the 519-room Sheraton Keauhou Bay.

In this newly created position, Horner will oversee details of day-to-day operations in various departments at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa with an initial focus on food and beverage.

“Paul is personable, dynamic, and well versed in Hawaii’s hospitality market which makes him an ideal Resort Manager,” said Jim Dina, Pyramid Hotel Group Chief Operating Officer. “His background from excellent hotels in Hawaii and on the mainland coupled with his involvement in the island’s community will enhance our efforts at Sheraton Keauhou Bay going forward.”

“I am excited to work alongside Paul,” said Steve Lindburg, area managing director and general manager at Sheraton Keauhou Bay. “We have a gracious, talented team of employees. Together, Paul and I will be doing all we can to ensure their success, enhance our community outreach, and provide superlative guest experiences.”

Horner was general manager at Outrigger Keauhou Beach Hotel the past three years. He also has held positions with The Lodge at Koele and Manele Bay Hotels on Lanai and at Carneros Inn in Napa, California.

He is a native of Hawaii, a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and he holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.

Horner is a member of the Advisory Board for the UH Hilo College of Business and Economics, and he serves as a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity and for the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce.
